Однако действительно приятным сюрпризом стало увеличение объема двигателя до 4,4 литров. Однако эти изменения не дали особо больших показателей в мощность. Двигатель стал развивать всего на 30 лошадиных сил больше прежней модели. Для оптимизации работы двигателя была полностью обновлена программа управления.
Вес автомобиля был снижен за счет использования легкой обшивки, стекол из поликарбоната, выхлопной системы из титана. А также из автомобиля были удалены все детали, которые стоят на стандартных авто, т.е. кондиционер, магнитола, задние сиденья и т.д.
На GTS стоит семиступенчатая коробка передач, два сцепления и специальная система Drivelogic, которая для этой модели была полностью переработана и настроена, на лад такого типа автомобиля. Также была увеличена жесткость подвески и установлена функция, которая позволяет регулировать задние амортизаторы.
Еще одним новшеством стала настраиваемая система обвесов. Можно поменять угол атаки, который позволит увеличить, либо уменьшить прижимную силу автомобиля. Тормозная система модели GTS также полностью переработана и стала более эффективной, так как она работает с использованием системы DSC.
Также для BMW M3 2012 были сделаны диски на заказ и установлена специальная резина от компании Pirelli P Zero Corsa. Эта новинка стала действительно достойным сюрпризом для любителей марки. Конечно, цена на автомобиль будет превышать предыдущею модель почти в два раза, однако за такой шедевр не жалко ни каких денег, так как мастера действительно постарались над этой разработкой.
